Jim,
I have not had a chance to look at the bar function yet.  I am sure that it can be made to work correctly.
I have been looking at the graphics draw routines.  In my experience if you can not draw the bitmaped graphics, you will not be able to draw bitmapped graphics.  After a rocky start, I have the library drawing graphics.   I had to change the value that I had in register 3 to 0x1018.  Then in every graphics routine where the variable "left" is used I had to change it to "GetMaxX() - left".  Not to bad of a change to get graphics working. The display is pretty sharp.

I am having issues right now with the touch screen.  The flex circuit is much thinner than the connector that I have mounted to our board. It has a very intermittent connection.  I will have to investigate this further.  I just hope that It is an order option for the connector, and we got the wrong one.

I am using the full GOLDemo project from Microchip right now, So I haven't gotten to the indicators to see if the bar function will work.  This demo needs the touch screen.

About the flex cable, both the touch screen and the secondary LED light flex cables are too thin for any known connector.  This is, in my opinion, a design flaw but DisplayTech chose to do this intending the customer to solder the flex cable directly to the PCB.  At least they intended it for the LED flex cable, the other one caught them by surprise I think as their initial answer was to use the connector.

In any case, I've soldered directly here and both seem to work well.

I still don't know why they wouldn't bring the secondary LED signals into the main connector and get rid of that flex altogether--it would make it much easier to use and design in.  Then if they make the touch screen flex cable thicker you would then only need 2 connectors and no hand soldering.

Yes we in the US initially thought the touch screen cable would accept a ZIF connector but were incorrect.  Both cables (2nd LED and touch screen) can be had with stiffeners thus making ZIF connectors suitable.  This would be discussed offline separately to discuss things such as volumes, timing of order, etc.

The solution is clear the bit ORG in 003H and set the direction with AM and ID[1,0] bits, I have 1028H for a landscape with coordinates (0,0) in the top right corner near to the second Backlight flex cable
