I was wondering, since the backlight is basically a series of LEDs, does it really matter if you apply strictly 3.2 V, or can you perhaps apply 5V and some series resistors?
After design expansions, my 3.3V voltage regulator cannot supply enough current to drive everything, so I want to connect some components to a 5 V regulator on the board.
Hi Jackidvm,
You can use the resistor in series but it could get unstable backlight brightness since the LED forward voltage may change as it warms up or at a cold operating temperature.
