Parallel Mode Selection

The controller chip (ILI9163C) supports both 6800 and 8080 parallel interfaces. The selection of these is made using the P68 pin on the controller chip.

But I don't see this pin brought out to the LCD module interface. Is the LCD module hardwired to use 6800 or 8080 parallel interface?

Hi tomz,
RGB interface can also be used for the SDT018ATFT.  Please see topics under this part number for more info.

Sorry, I think I was not clear. I do not need to use the RGB mode. I want to use the standard 9-bit parallel mode.

My question is, does the parallel interface run in 6800 or 8080 mode?

The controller IC has a pin that selects between these two modes, but I don't see that same pin brought out to the module 45-pin connector. So I was thinking that the module designer decided to connect it high or low.

Hi tomz,
You can use the 9-bit parallel interface, but only the 8080 mode, as the P68 pin is connected to GND internally.
